Hello everyone,

I got a new monitor (Samsung odyssey g5 27") that's capable of 1440p and 144hz,
How do I get it to run at 1440p @ 144hz with my gtx780?
Right now I'm getting 1440p @ 60hz (59.951 according to windows).
Should I be connecting it through DP? currently running HDMI.

I know the GPU is outdated but I want to use 1440p for movies and 144hz for gaming (I only play CSGO).
Last few questions, can I use FreeSync with nvidia cards? can I enable V-Sync through nvidia control panel and in game? will it cause any trouble instead of helping?
I tried making a custom resolution on nvidia control panel but the screen stays black.

Thanks in advance!

Specs:
Samsung odyssey g5 27"
GTX 780
i5 6400
16 GB ram
Kingston M.2 SSD A2000
Windows 10

Solution
You will need to use display port to achieve 1440p 144Hz. I believe the version of HDMI that you will have on a 780 won’t support it.

Unfortunately the 780 does not support G-Sync on a Freesync monitor. Only 10xx series or above gpu’s support this.

For games like CS GO you don’t want to use V-Sync as it adds noticeable lag.

Thank you so much I will get one and give it a try,
I never enabled VSync previously as it caused a lot of lag like you mentioned, but thought it might help with the new setup.

Should I get a specific cable? like 1.2 or something like that.
