Will GTX 970 work on my pc and is it worth buying

Dont mind what you saw/read, 970 is still an amazing card for its price. Definitely worth buying. Also, your CPU will be fine, i5's dont bottleneck single card, even at stock.

You can run a GTX 970; and as long as you stick with 1080p, the 3.5gb vram issue won't be a problem.

I have a GTX 970, and if you not going above 1080p then you will be find with the 970. 1440p is apparently possible without problem but don't reply on it.

Yes,i never play above 1080p, im fine with 1080p

With battlefield 4, similar to those you said. I get maxed out in 1080p with an i5 4690K, 130 to 70 on average. I don't have those games you said sorry.

There isn't too big of a difference between each version.

A quality 500w or better unit from tier 1 or 2 psu:
