at the moment i have a i5 6500 and a gtx 750ti i was wondering if my gpu will effect the performance of my cpu because i feel like the i5 6500 is to good to be pared with the 750ti. and also
will having a corrupt hard drive (100% usage) effect the performance of my cpu.

Solution
If your drive is having any issues I highly recommend replacing it. SSD's are very reliable and going with a 120GB one just for the OS and a 1TB HDD will give you enough space for games. Having a GPU doesn't have any effect on your CPU. A GPU is needed for gaming so putting a 750ti in is ok. Only if you're playing more recent games you'll have to look at newer GPU's like the GTX 1060.
