Hi guys. I'm in the process of upgrading my PC. I have an HP 8000 SFF. My current processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and I have a MSI Radeon HD 6450LP. I'm planning to upgrade to Core 2 Quad q9550 and Radeon HD 7750. Will it be a good combination? Are these 2 parts compatible to each other?

If the mobo has a PCI-e port, then you are good to go. The hd 7750 requires only 43 W max so you should be fine with your 240w supply. Sapphire is as good GPU brand.. But i dont see why the visiontek wont be compatible

Armo1000, Well, the problem is that It's an HP 8000 SFF and I'm stuck with a 240w power supply. I think this could be the max possible build for my HP 8000 SFF. I found this gameplay video on YouTube about the Sapphire 7750 Low Profile Card and an Intel i5 Processor 2310 (which has the same power consumption as the Q9550) on a 220w power supply.

Unfortunately, I can't find a Sapphire 7750 Low Profile anymore. The cheapest one is Visiontek Radeon HD 7750 sff (around $140 on Amazon).

Just want to find out if these 2 parts will work together. I've researched throughout the web that the Visiontek 7750 has some compatibility issues with HP7900 SFF and HP8300 SFF, but is working well on HP8100 SFF. Does the computer model has something to do with the compatibility? I just don't want to buy those parts and I'll just wreck it sometime in the future.

The problem is, I am stuck with a 240w power supply on my HP 8000 SFF and I believe this build will be the farthest it can go. The HP chat support told me that I can use q9550 with no problems, but they discourage me to use a LP 7750 Graphics Card, and they advised me to use a Radeon HD 4650 (1GB) instead. it doesn;t make any sense because 7750 and 4650 had the same power consumption, yet I cannot use the other.

Here's the link for the 4650 and 7750 comparison: http://www.hwcompare.com/11829/radeon-hd-4650-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-7750/

Here's the link on the "supported upgrades" as mentioned by the HP Support Specialist: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c01926344-1%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

Thanks!! I have a single PCIe slot! So there should me no problem when I use these 2 parts then?

Yes, you wont face any problems

Oh boy. So there's still a hitch. Are there any possible workarounds for this? I haven't made changes to the BIOS Settings before. Will upgrading the BIOS work?

If this is your PC, I don't know. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4065873
HP has been known to lock the BIOS as I mentioned above. Get on the forum there and ask around. There must be others with that PC in the same situation as you.
