This shouldn't cause any issues when the PS4 is off. If you have a slow connection it could affect performance when streaming since that takes a lot of bandwidth. There may actually be an increase in performance by having it wired in vs wireless!

I have trouble staying connected on my other devices when the ps4 is connected with the ethernet. Anyone know why that is? Also my ps3 in another room won't stream Netflix

It could just be that you are in a busy location (NYC?) where the air traffic is hogged by all the other routers. Your best bet is going to be wired connections as much as possible or a better router with 5Ghz if you don't already have one. The more wired devices the less interference.. What internet speeds do you have?

I have up to 50 mbps which is usually 34mbps and an upload speed of 10mbps

Its just a normal neighborhood with houses. I don't live next to any apartments. Thanks for helping me out.

No problem! I would suggest asking your provider for a better router since it's not adequate for your space. They will usually do that for free if they haven't given you a new one in a while.
