As the title says I need to know that can I run bf3 on my pc at resolution 1280x1024... I know my processor is very old but i need to know that can i run it even medium or low settings...

My System Specs:
Amd Athlon x2 3800+ 2.2 GHz
2 GB RAM
Nvidia GTS 450

Any help would be appreciated...

Is that socket 939? I would personally get an upgrade, keep the graphics though.

If you're REALLY strapped for cash the CPU would need overclocking, it requires an Athlon X2 @ 2.7 ghz minimum. However, I would assume that thats for the newer Athlon X2's so I would do it higher, and I think that 2.7's a push if its a socket 939 one. Even at 2.7 it would struggle with 64 player multiplayer, my old athlon 250 struggled and thats alot newer than what you've got.

Another note, 2 gigs of ram is a bit too small for it, I'd say get 4 at least.

the cpu is just to slow, the gfx will let you play at just above minimum but the cpu is gonna cripple what little performance you may have seen from the gfx...
you need a minimum of a 3ghz amd dual to play it smoothly and at minimum amd quad to play smoothly on a 64 player map...
if its the 60nm revision then you should be able to oc the cpu to 3.0 and just have enough.
just dont try to oc on the stock cooler...

I do not want to play online I just want to play the campaign... As I am new to this gaming business I do not know how to overclock my processor and I will be needing a lot of help...

Ok first thing is that you have to make sure that you have the right kit first. Whats your motherboard? What was considered a cheap motherboard at the time would be able to overclock but not to the levels you need to oc to. If your motherboard is socket 939, the DFI lanparty nforce 4s were very good overclockers. Also you need a good cooler in order to overclock, the stock fan isn't really up to it. The power supply also needs to be up to supplying the extra juice too.

Probably at 1024X768

SAleRon it seems that you have be a bit stuffed on that part. The CPU socket is AM2 though so you might be able to pick up a faster CPU and put in it, but as it's off from an lenovo it'll probably only be 95watt AM2 CPUs like the Athlon 64 6000+. You should be able to pick one up cheap, but I really would be looking at an upgrade. There are AM2+ motherboards out there that support AM3 CPUs, and some boards that even support DDR2 and DDR3, like this board from As Rock

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=N68C-GS%20FX

It supports every CPU up to 95 watts from what you have up to the FX parts. A very good board in terms of upgrade paths. Be aware than AM2 and AM2+ CPUs can only use DDR2, AM3 can use both, and AM3+ can only use DDR3 I think. So I would get this board with a Phenom ii/Athlon ii and you'll keep your system going for not much money. Bear in mind that you may have to reinstall windows but thats a given when changing motherboards.
