I'm changing everything in my build apart from my HDD, what problems may I run into if there are any. It's SATA if that makes any difference, will it cause interference with my new motherboard, processor and gpu?

^^ They are correct. If you buy a retail version of Windows you will have no problems. I would never suggest keeping the same version/license of Windows on a pc when upgrading the motherboard (that's what the OEM is tied to) Unless that version of windows is the retail version and you an format and reinstall with the CD. Otherwise you will need to buy it.

Highly unlikely unless the new parts are similar to the old ones. If you have a different chipset motherboard there is very little chance it will boot after changing the components.

There are two workable options.

#1
Back everything up -> wipe the hard drive -> re-install Widnows

#2
Sysprep the system -> shut it down -> switch the parts over -> start it up again

This guide will help explain sysprep for you

Something I don't think it mentions is Antivirus. I strongly recommend un-installing any antivirus before going ahead with a sysprep.

My old parts we're Nvidia GPU and Intel i3 duo core upgrading to Nvidia GPU again and Intel i5 4670. I have a product key kinda thingy on the side of my case for the windows 7 activation. Also, how would I be able to backup my files if I can't access my computer no more? :/ I want to save some data which is important to me.

Still against the rules. You just promoted illegal content/activity.

I personally don't care, just trying to give you a heads up so you don't get banned.

You probably will have to do a re-install or Sysprep then.

How can you not access your computer? Do the old parts not work any more?
