I am a first-time builder and I've ordered these parts from newegg. After tons of help from members here I was able to narrow it down to put this build together, but Im nervous about the memory being compatible with the MOBO. The ram is DDR3 1600, but the MOBO lists a Memory Standard DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800

Will I have any problems with this memory being compatible with my board?

Are there any other components that I should have here?

Solution
No, there won't be any trouble with the memory. The memory will downclock itself to 1333 MHz in all likelihood if you don't manually set it. If you do manually set it, you'll still be fine.

The drives will be used for storage for my backed up dvd collection. I wont be accessing them much so I went for the green drives that power down when they're not in use. I dont game on the the computer at all......mostly due to the fact I've never had a computer that could handle anything more that tetris! lol (My last rig was a store-bought Compaq Presario SR2039X that died 6 months ago.)

But now that you mention it, I will be doing alot of format converting so will the drives affect the performance and speed there?

I wasnt sure about getting the Hyper 212 either, but it was suggested since I like to do a ton of VOB encoding I could possibly put a good amount of heat on the CPU. I wanted to make sure the CPU was as protected as possible and I figured the extra $35 was worth the investment even if it wasnt really a necessary component to have; and since I saved $100 on the i7 (thanx to this site for pointing me towards Micro Center!!)

Being that this is my first time building my own PC.....what are some potential pitfalls I might encounter? Is there anything I should be prepared for?

So I can go into the BIOS and clock the memory back up to 1600 MHz if it decides to down-clock itself?

All the parts should be here by saturday so I expect to be doing alot more posting to get things set up and fine tune the system.
