Hi so i am updrading from a I5 6500 to a I7 9700k. Will i need a power supply upgrade? Right now I have a 500w power supply, And i have a Rx 480 8gb for my GPU.

It depends on the brand, model and age of your PSU and you need to list your complete system specs.

Cpu:I7 9700k witch i will have, i have a I5 6500 Right now but the I7 is the one the thread is about
Gpu: Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics 8GB
PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 9 500w ( about 2 years old )
Motherboard: MSI MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC (right now i have a B150M BAZOOKA (MS-7982) )

The PSU you have should be fine as long as it's working well. I don't think the 9700k comes with a cooler so check in to that.

Thanks so much!!! Yeah i know i am buying a be quiet! Dark Rock 4 which is a 200w i just needed to make sure the psu could hold up.
