I am looking to upgrade my motherboard to a ASUS Z77 because currently I have a ASUS CM6870 US - 2AA with a GTX 760 and new PSU I put in my self. I have a 2TB Segate HDD that shows up as two different drives if that makes a difference. As of now I have Windows 7 Home Premium OA, that's what it says on the side of my case. If I was to put in another motherboard, would I have to re-install another windows, i.e. buying a new one. If so, is there any way to get a round it and not have to pay. Any help would be great. Thanks!

P.S. : I am fairly good with computers, I would be installing the motherboard myself, but really have no clue on how to do partitioning or anything.

P.S.: Could I buy an 120GB SSD and move Windows to along with other programs?

If you have the windows disk all you have to do is do a clean install of windows. If you install windows it automatically makes a partition (at least with windows 8 it does) and you could buy a 120 gb SSD to make windows run faster. Otherwise that is all you have to do.

That's an OEM version and it's tied to the first board it's installed on.

Can't be reused already tied to previous board.

1. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Activation is also known as OA. It basically is OEM basic input/output system (BIOS) activation -- meaning they've activated it already and you don't need to enter the key and activate yourself.
