Will i need to replace my CPU (i5 P55) when I replace my woky/broken MOBO (Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4 LGA 1156)?

So, my MOBO is on the fritz (I think), and I i can see that the LGA 1156 socket seems to be a dead tech, so I´m wondering if I have to replace both the CPU and the MOBO.

Yes, if buying a newer board, you'd have to buy a supported CPU also (depending on the board's LGA - if Intel). And in some cases new RAMs- if board and CPU support DDR4.
