I want to buy a gtx 980/970 and a intel I7 processor.

My current motherboard is a GA-78LMT-USB3 from gigabyte. Can it use these two parts?

My motherboard currently holds a AMD fx 6200 Six core processor and a GTX 650 graphics card, if this helps you answer the question.

Please provide an alternate motherboard if I need a new one, I would like one that can survive around 16 hours of use a day, while staying cool, but without liquid cooling. Do not go insane with the price, I will not have much money to hand over to a motherboard provider.

Solution
No it cannot, since it uses AMD socket, and AMD chipset, and proprietary AMD technology.

And for long runs, I suggest:

Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 and if You want to save the buck, ASUS Z97-A, or ASROCK Fatal1ty Z97X Killer.

[actually I have only one system running on Fatality from Asrock, I built last week, so not that much experience, but installation was flawless]

And if You like MSi [which I don't] MSI Z97 MPOWER, she's built to last.
