Will I notice a big difference between vga and displayport?

So, I just got a 22 inch monitor, and grabbed an hdmi cable, but was proven mistaken and found that it actually needed a display port cable. I did not have any dvi cables, so I just hooked it up with vga, and it looks great. I am wondering though, would there be a noticeable difference between vga, or even dvi, to display port, to make it worth the cable cost to upgrade, or should I just grab a spare dvi cable later for free and leave it at that?

With a quality cable VGA does not look as bad as people say. Text is just slightly less sharp(many users would not even see it), but video and images would be hard to tell apart.

Now if you plan to play Blu-ray movies, you will want to have DVI/DP/HDMI because VGA lacks the HDCP that new movies require(or will soon) to watch at full resolution.
