will i3-540 bottleneck R9 270x?

i have a i3-540 @ 3.06ghz.. wanna buy a r9 270x.. now will the cpu bottleneck the card? & do i have to upgrade my cpu for gaming on the next 2/3 yrs??

it will not bottleneck but it's better to upgrade you cpu now. first gen i series cpus wont last for another 2/3 years

Its likely to bottleneck on intensive games and since a R9 270X is high end. I'd recommend to upgrade the CPU to something like a FX 6300, then buy the GPU.

Hi. It will in all likelyhood bottleneck that card. You would be best served to move to a third or forth gen i5 or i7. Either gen processor should keep you going for the next 4 years. I am running an i7 960 in my other desktop ( 1st Gen ) and it does fine.
