Question Will i5 9400f and rx 5700 xt work good with ultrawide 3440 x 1440?

I will mostly be playing some fps games and sim racing games. I have 2x8gb 2666mhz, 550w psu, asus prime b365mk, i5 9400f. Will my cpu bottleneck this gpu much in this resolution?

Your GPU is nowhere near powerful enough to drive games at that resolution at decent frame rates. The only problem is that not only do you have a 550w PSU your CPU would probably bottleneck any GPU powerful enough to drive the resolution. You are in need of a complete overhaul.

Good to know, would it help if I run the games 1080p? Also what components should I buy?

unfortunately, that amount is not a lot to work with unless you would consider selling your old system. If you could stretch your budget to $1000 (950 euros) then you could consider this build. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jaydenmiller123/saved/#view=QyJLyc
At this price point last gen AMD GPUs are the best performance for the money.
Thank you for that list. I forgot to say, that budget was mainly for used components. And yeah I could probably make some more money too. And the reason I am considering an ultrawide monitor is because we found a nice deal, 370 eur odyssey g5 34 inch, and my dad needs it for work.

Actually if you run about mid settings it should do fine in most games.

The monitor resolution is about 3K these are some 4K benchmarks.

Also now that fsr 3.0 is coming, should that help a lot?
Hard to say considering that there aren't many (if any) games that utilize it that are out today. I am curious to see how well frame generation works from inside of a driver, but yes if the game supports it it should help. you will also need an RX 7000 series card to get the most out of it.

They said fsr 3.0 will work on almost any card, and in any directx 11 or 12 game. I just hope it will look better than fsr 2.

first of all, who said that? second of all there is already something like that called RSR which is driver-based upscaling that can only be used on AMD cards since it is built into the driver. FSR only works if the developer implements it into their game.

. And fsr 3.0 will literally work in any dx 11 or 12 game after its fully launched. Even in nvidia cards.
