I have a problem please , i own the DELL optiplex 390 , and i wanted to buy a i7 2600 to use it as a processor in my pc , but when i searched google i did see that a user did already benchmarked that he installed and worked with the i7 2600 in he's Dell Optiplex 390 ,

http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/10102177

While The Documentations and Other searches says that its not supported ,

<< i7 2600 :Its Sandy Bridge Lga 1155 >>
Please Can i get a correct answer will it work or not ? in case i installed it will the pc Boot and work normaly ? what should i do to make it work should i update bios ?

those were the biggest questions i have been asking for quite a long time

Solution
Every BIOS contain the previous BIOS fixes plus the new fixes implemented.
Update your BIOS to A3 then to A14, before installing the new CPU.
The higher CPU shipped with the Optiplex 390 was the i5-2400.
So I don't think Dell officially supported the i7 2600 and consequently it can't be 100% guaranteed to work.
I have seen several people that have upgraded to the i7 2600 without issues.
If you are still moving ahead with the upgrade, I suggest updating the BIOS beforehand.

Alright i hope it works bro because i dont wanna buy the Processor and get shocked when it doens't work the thing that took my attention is that like i said the benchmark said that some users did installed i7 2600 , and the second thing is that The i7 2600 structure is compatible with the optiplex 390 motherboard :
Lga 1155 Socket Sandy Bridge , im really afraid to just put a 120$ like that ,
You Said as mentionned that you know some persons who already worked for them when installing i7 2600 ,
so it will do the same for me right ?

Yes i did bro , can i ask you a question for example, lets assume i got bios A02 and i updated to BIOS A03 wich has the latest CPU Microcode update for CPU support , the updated to A14 that got for example Upgrades of Hardware error for example ,
the question is will the CPU MICROCODE UPDATE THAT IN THE BIOS A03 work only in A03 bios version ? or it's in A14 aswell ?
