will I7 4770 work on a Z68 motherboard ?

Hey guys

so i was wondering if an i7 4770 work on a Z68 motherboard with LGA 1150 socket ?

my motherboard is Asus P8Z68 deluxe, i know the motherboard is a bit old now but i was thinking of buying a new PC then i thought why not just upgrade my current system.

and if it works on z68 chips will there be any performance issues ? and is a 550w power supply enough for it + a gtx 970 ?

corsair 8gb 1600hz ddr3 ram
550w power supply

The i7-4770 is not compatible with the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe board. It's not listed in the compatibility table:

sorry, i havent noticed that my motherboard is actually 1155.

so, do you recommend the i7 3770 ? since it is supported by my motherboard? is the upgrade from i5 2500k worth it ?

and will there be any performance loss because of the motherboard chip ?

well yes it is mainly for gaming but i am going to be doing some rendering here and there plus i'm feeling my computer getting a bit old and slow
