Question Will i7-9700f give me a 7.9 at CPU rating on Win7?

I am now on i5-9400f and I have a 7.8 at CPU rating on Windows 7.

Will i7-9700f give me a 7.9?

What do you think?

PS - I already know that i7-8700 also gets a 7.8

That is not a good benchmark tool to use to measure modern systems. Better tools to measure performance with.

Try Cinebench or the Unigine tools.

first we dont know what benchmark that is.
Second benchmarks on modern cpus are useless unless you are stressing them. The only thing that could stress either cpu fully would rendering in some form. Either is fine for normal use or gaming

The WEI thing in Win7 is pretty useless.

And if it give you a 7.8, or 7.9, or a perfect 8.000000....so what?
Does the system perform adequately to your needs?

WEI numbers are useless....(and even MS abandoned using them subsequently)

If needing to attempt to rely on/compare those numbers, most would likely have issues patching the Win7 OS (useless after January anyway) to work with various mainboards and anything after 6th gen Intel processors. as the OS does not support the newest chipsets

A 9400F is a 'decent' processor doing most things, albeit perhaps a little thread -challenged (high CPU usage, etc) for modern games in Win10. The 9700 is far superior (for gaming) with 8c/8t....with the 9700K often rivaling the 9900K in most games, albeit needing a good cooler.
