I know it SSD's won't affect game performance but will help with load times. I have a Blue WD 1TB and loading the OS and games take quiet some time. I also partitioned the drive into two, one for Windows and programs and the other for games. I just found out not so long ago that this affects loading times. As a drive gets filled, load times take longer. Since the games are on the second partition, the load times take even longer.
I know this won't happen with SSD's but I was still wondering if it will affect performance somehow, (load times), if games or programs were installed on a different drive from the OS.
I just purchased a Samsung 500GB 850 EVO but I also want a PNY CS2211 480GB, which costs less but doesn't perform like the EVO. I was thinking about using the PNY drive for the OS and EVO for games. Also, I was thinking about getting a 950 Pro, eventually, so I wanted to know this so I could use the EVO as the boot and program drive and 950 Pro as the game drive.
UPDATE:
Certain games need things like Microsoft Visual or DirectX. Having these installed on the OS drive, and the games in another, will it affect performance?
