will intel 975xbx board support ddr800

do you get three long beeps? if not, then its not the memory.

make sure you manually set the voltage to 1.9v, with 5-5-5-15 timings.

I have some patriot ddr2 800 4-4-4-12 running fine @ 800mhz with bios 1351.

if that dosent work, you may have bad memory.

also, post your system specs, and your OC (if ur OC'ing)

it countinously will beep and the beeps will have about a second between one another

Intel 975xbx
E6600
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
MSI x1900xt 512MB
(2) 74 gig raptors Raid 0

it'll perform best at ddr2 533.
you want the fsb and the ram to run at a 1:1 ratio.

e6600 fsb =1066 mhz quad-pumped

1066/4=266

ddr2 533= 2x266

thus ddr2 533 runs at a 1:1 ratio w/ your fsb.

ddr2 800 is nice if you want to overclock though.

for example, im tryin to get my e6600 to 400 fsb, or 3.6ghz.
Then itll run at a 1:1 ratio w my ddr2 800 ram

i c i c.

Well do you know how i would go about overclocking it. with DDR 800. Ill the forums i have seen use different boards. The only 975 guides i have seen short out the mothboard voltage regulator with a pencil. not to down with usin a pencil on my mobo after the hit it had on my wallet. I don't really want an insane overclock just a lil more. around 3 or so.......

thanks for all you help

hmmm...well if you dont want to do the mod, i cant really help out much. Its pretty failsafe though, not much is around the pins other than themselves. I did the mod with the circuitwriter pen from radioshack...with all the components inside my case.

Do it man, DO IT 😀

EDIT: oops, i thought i was in another thread...the mod stated above in this thread isnt really needed...if you're willing to do THIS MOD then I can help you out. It opens up the overclocking options in the bios...and is MUCH different than the one stated above...
