Hi, I'm planning to build a pc, i was wondering if my CPU would bottleneck with GPU?

Planning to Play Games like Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1 at 1080p

here are the remaining specs -

Gigabyte GA-B150M
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

Solution
Bottlenecks are not that simple. The i3 will not give a constant 60fps in Battlefield regardless of what video card you pick, because CPU and GPU loads have little to do with one another. However, I feel an i3 6100 is a good value, considering the performance it gives.

With Skylake i5's running at 100% and unable to hold 60 fps in BF1 I would have serious doubts about an i3 6100, at least go with an i3 6300 which generally beats the i5 6400 due to its higher clock rate but even then its below minimum spec. Both of those games are CPU heavy, if they are your aim Id wait until you can afford an i5 6500/6600

The i3 does have a 500Mhz higher clock. I3 6100 at 3.7Ghz and many games are more sensitive to higher clocks.

Save your pennies for something worth it. A dual core in 2016? For a gaming P.C nonetheless?

Yeah yeah the single thread performance matches similar 4th generation i5's, I get it. But he the O.P plays direct x 11/12 titles which focus on multicore rendering.

i3.....man....as a stepping stone for something better, but a permanent gaming CPU?
