Hello all, Thank you for taking the time to read this first and foremost! and any help you may be able to lend. :)

So long story short, I've come to the point where I need to replace my motherboard, CPU and memory. I have little to no understanding of what works together, so I opted to buying a combo off newegg.

My aim is gaming, I have most new'ish titles and run them comfortably on the set up I have but something blew out and its time to upgrade anyway. I'm looking at - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2899080

I want to upgrade from my current 8gb of ram (4 sticks of 2gb) to 16gb. (current CPU & Mobo are non-functional, presumed dead)

I have a 700w "extreme gear" ATX Power Supply - PSAZ-CP700 model #.
GPU - GeForce GTX 780 3GB. (upgraded to years after purchasing initial PC set up)

A Corsair Carbide series 400R case.

Is that a good deal on a processor / mobo that would keep me gaming into the years with new titles? Will this all fit together?! What memory would be sufficient?! Is this all I should be looking to replace ?!

Sorry I know this is a lot to throw out there..

Solution
NO IT WILL NOT WORK!

Throw that PSU out a window and get a real one! If the PSU has a "minimum loading" specification, it should never be used in a computer. Go invest in a EVGA G2 650 or similar tier 1 (or maybe tier 2 if you must)

Try this

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 970M PRO3 Micro ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard ($51.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($67.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $371.95

Depends on how cash strapped he is and what he's going to play. The AMD side tends to be ~25 less than an i5 6400+h110, and not far off if you overclock. Some exceptions of course.

And personally I would recommend an i3 6100 with h170 (~$200 total), it ends up being cheaper than the AMD and i5 but usually the same performance (and actually higher than the 6400/6500 for many games thanks to 3.7GHz clock as opposed to <3.5 for the other two)

Since when is $265.37 "6$" more than $211.97? Simple math tells us it's over $50 more!
