Will it be compatible?

hello everyone!
i currently have 6gb of ram ( http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/kingston_hyperx_pc312800/3.htm ) in my x58 sabertooth mobo and i want to add another 2gb of ram ( http://www.eshopcy.com.cy/show.phtml?id=PER.552688 ) because i would like to use a virtual pc the same time as i play BF3. i know that now my ram works as a triple channel memory and when i add another 2gb it will work as a dual channel memory.
my questions are:
1)will i loose any performance if i go from triple channel memory to dual channel memory? (as i know the answer is no but i ask to be sure because i am not an expert!)
2)is the 2gb memory kit that i posted above compatible with my current 6gb memory kit? will it work together?
thank u in advance:))

Each pair of DIMMs is connected to a channel on the memory controller. I don't own any X58 series motherboards so I couldn't tell you how that IMC will respond to an imbalanced memory channel but you should always keep them balanced even for stability reasons. Get another 6GB triple channel set and install that instead.

To answer your second question, those memory sticks have different voltage profiles and rated speeds. While the 1600Mhz Hyper-X DIMM might contain a 1333 profile that will operate at the 1.65 volts required by the other DIMM that doesn't mean that it will work. This is a recipe for disaster

There will be little performance lost going to dual channel.

The RAM is not compatible because the voltage is 1.7v to 1.9v. The X58 chipset requires that RAM run at 1.65 volts or below.

That would be a much better choice. I checked the datasheet for the 1866 Mhz version (the 1800 is no longer listed on their site) and it does have a 1600Mhz XMP profile as well as a full speed XMP profile.

If the XMP profile numbers are different you may have to configure them manually, and of course there's always the risk of it not working at all but it will be much better than your other solution
