Will it bottle neck? (2)

Solution
Depends on the game as well. There are games like Ashes of the Singularity that'll stifle any i5, even GTA:V if it's got a decent amount of mods can kill an i5 performance. But for the most part, most games don't have the graphics to fully utilize the power of a gtx1080 even at max ultra with a 4k DSR, so really don't challenge the i5 either. Basically you'd need to be gaming on a 4k monitor for most games to tax a 1080 and a heavy cpu game to tax a new i5.

So yes it's possible, but not really probable. You'd need to have the right conditions for it to happen.
