Will it fry?

Basically i got my hands on a gtx 670 it has a water block and no heatsink but i do not have a water cooler. I am not sure of the card works and don't want to test it on my rig if it is going to fry. Will it fry with just the water block? Can i buy a heatsink and install it? Can i see if it works before buying anything?

So you have a card with a water block but no loop to go with it? If so yes the card will likely overheat very quickly without any water even at idle. It should be safe to power it up for a few seconds to see if it works but no more than that if you want to be safe. Yes you can put an air cooler on it most likely, I would need to know the specific model of the card to recommend a cooler however. The size of the GTX 670 PCB can vary based on the board partner and model.

It's a palit one and i tested it.It seems good can you suggest me a cooler?it is from palit.
