I have a headphone -philips m1mkii ,it has mic too.it has 1 chord for both audio and mic.but my motherboard has diff. jacks for mic and audio.So will using a 2 male to 1 female 3.5 mm connector work 100% so I can use both facilities???

Yes, in most cases. I'm currently doing the same - using my music headphones via the 4-pole splitter that came with my gaming headset and the in-line microphone still works.
