Will just an i3-4370 do for gaming or do I need an i5?

I am a gamer so am going all out on that with a GTX 980 but do I even need an i5 or will an i3 do the job?

Look if you're getting the 980 then you need to invest in all round better build and for that reason the i5 is better , price/performance nowadays nothing beats the i5.

With that being said the i3 will do it for gaming as for now however if you can't afford an i5+980 then get the i5+970 , that will stand the test of time.

I5+970 OC will beat i3+980 at stock.

I do not plan to OC at all and I have no budget, I can spend any amount that i wish but at the same time am ot gonna get an i7 when there's no point
