will kaby lake able to use z170 motherboards

i was wondering if z170 is compatible with kaby lake or not because i was thinking of buying a z170 motherboard but didnt know

Yes it will be compatible but the motherboard requre an BIOS update, to make the bios update you need a Skylake CPU, or ask the seller if he can update the BIOS for you.

Okay so are motherboard companies going to come out with a new motherboard or not. So i will go and ask the ncix if they can do a bios update for the z170 sabertooth mark s

They will come with the new motherboards, the z270 being one of them, but in the first month of release both the Kaby Lake and motherboards will cost the premium extra, so you might want to save money and go with z170 with updated BIOS if you can get it.
