A 2600 bottlenecking a 1060? Even a 1070 will work fine with that CPU, anyway, it's likely that you'll need a BIOS update before using a GPU, intel had very good support for their motherobards, my old DH61WW did worked with a 1060.
It will support it, but your CPU will be a SEVERE bottleneck. A 2nd gen processor on an LGA 1150 motherboard with a current-gen 1060 is not such a good idea. However, in simple terms, it will work. Not very well.

I did a bit more research. I assumed the age of the CPU would render it obsolete, but it's still formidable. My mistake.
