Will Lego PC Games work on a new Windows 8 Laptop

I am purchasing a new laptop ""Sony Vaio SVE1512J6ESI" for my son which has windows 8, Intel Core i3, 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 640B. Will the Lego PC disc games work properly on this as well as the new lord of the rings lego PC game. Thanks.

It should, but that laptop is terrible for playing games for the price it costs.
