First time builder here. Before I open up the boxes this weekend, was I wrong to listen to advice at the store that the Asus M5A88-V EVO motherboard would be a good choice for the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor?

I am *not* planning on overclocking, and if it matters the other components I'll be using are Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz and Antec 650 Watt Earth Watts in a Corsair Carbide Series 400R Case.

I realize there are seldom guarantees on this kind of thing, I just want to double check the salesman's advice, plus any feedback and advice specific to these components would be welcome for this PC build noob. Thanks!

I had done a Google search for the motherboard and processor and didn't get that hit, but I guess this shows my noob status! I should have just gone straight to the Asus site and looked for a compatibility chart!

Thanks acerace!
