Will midi file support without sound card

Im starting music production....i dont have sound card in my pc ...so, can't use keyboard or guitar..
Planning to purchase a midi file through which i can work out in pc itself...
The main problem is will midifile support without sound card

if you have onboard audio it will work

if you already hear any kind of sound you will be ok.
