Will MSI-2A9C motherboard and i5 650 cpu bottleneck hd 7950

Hi. I am planning to upgrade my pc step by step to keep playing games with good fps and good settings mostly at 1920x1080 or 1680x1050 resolution.

My pc specs
HP Elite-316sc

i5 650 3,2ghz referense cooling
MSI-2A9C motherboard
6GB 1333mhz ram
HD 5570
1,5 TB
460W max output mystery PSU

Case for new build i have my friends old CM HAF 912+ already.

So here is the thing i have been planning:
to Upgrade HD 5570 to HD 7950 and get 650W-850W corsair PSU.
And later near future when i can afford to buy more hardware plan is to upgrade motherboard,memory, CPU and SSD.

However if anyone who knows more about these things and could tell me if my
CPU or motherboard will Bottleneck hd 7950 i would be very glad.

Any other tips, comments thoughts are appreciated too.

Yes, your 2 core/4 thread processor will hold back the HD 7950 a bit. It will be a major improvement over what you have now, however. And since you plan on upgrading the MB/CPU in the future, it may be worth it. But only if you upgrade the PSU. I see the HP comes with a '460W' PSU, but without knowing the specs of the PSU, I would be afraid it wouldn't handle the HD 7950. That card will draw 16.7A on the +12V rail(s) at max demand (200W). Even a 'good' 460W PSU would be marginal. Oh... and be sure to measure to see if the long card will fit.

Here is picture i managed to take from PSU. There are only 2 of those sata power cables and one 6pin cabnle available with my current setup. you should see them also from same page where that psu photo is.

But anyway i suppose its good to go if i buy lets say like 750w quality PSU then and forget even using that old.
And upgrade other components little later.

And yes i have another case that supports graphics cards length to 10.6 inches to max 15.4 inches (270mm - max 390mm) .

From the specs on your PSU, I feel it is probably more the equivalent of a 400W PSU. It appears to be similar to the PSUs in Dells. You probably will be able to 'get by' with it OK. But if you experience any shutdowns or re-boots in the midst of gaming with graphically intense games, it probably will be the PSU not being able to keep up.

Having said all that, it was never intended for powering such a demanding card as the HD 7950. As you surmised, 7950s require 2 x 6 pin connectors. If your PSU only has one, you will have to use an adapter from a Molex connector for the other 6 pin. Never a good solution for cards of that power. Then there's always the possibility of the PSU failing and taking out a MB or card component, too. So if it were me, I'd use it gingerly only until I could get a better one. 600W or better. Name brand.
