Question Will MSI b150m Night Elf MOBO support 7th gen intel CPUs?

I'm using i5 6400 with this mobo and was wondering if I could upgrade to i7 7700 with a bios update. I was looking at their support page https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B150M-NIGHT-ELF/support#bios and it said a bios update will support next gen new intel cpu. It seems like both 6th and 7th gen cpus support b100 series chipsets. It's a bit unclear to me so any help would be appreciated.

Yes, as long as you update the BIOS to at least version 1.9 from 2016-10-17 it should allow you to use the i7 7700.

Though for best practice, just update to the latest available BIOS which is 7979v1D from 2018-07-26.
