Hello,

I just picked up the GTX 1070 founders edition and my current motherboard is GA-B75M-D3H. It is a small board and im not sure if the card will fit it.

Does anyone with this motherboard also use the 1070?

Solution

Not always true. Older PCIe 1.0 and even 1.1 slots many times have issues with newer cards like the 1070 and even the 9xx series as well. Not that you would want to bottleneck the system so much, but we have had many users run into this issue with older slots.

Hello!

Yes it will fit, all graphics card use PCI/e to communicate with the motherboard, your GPU will fit into the slot labelled "PCIEX16" and it will pop in, you will have to plug in power cables into the graphics card however. You will require an 8 pin cable in order to power the card.

Your motherboard.

ANY motherboard that has a PCIe slot, which is ANY motherboard new enough to know the PCIe-standard established in 2003 will support the GPU
depending on your case, it might be too small
the board won't have an issue with it, it's a regular µATX board

I was worried about the cards size interfering with other components on the board. My case should be large enough, but my main concern was the card being fairly large and not fitting due to something else on the board.

There are a couple SATA ports on the board that may be in the way if you have something plugged into them as you can see in the pic, otherwise you're fine.

I'm pretty sure the white ports that are pointed down in the pic are the 6gbps ports.
