[SOLVED] Will my 12 years old Power Supply unit (Corsair HX1000W) work just fine with today's new hardware ?

Solution
I'm not pro at electrics, but some GameBoys still work :ROFLMAO:
But I now understand that power supplies do wear out, even while not being used.

Remember, the Game Boy topped out at 0.7 watts. Alkaline AA batteries are only good for about 2.5 watt-hours. To power a GTX 750 Ti at load for an hour would require about 30 AA batteries.

A PSU has to provide stable power for a lot of Game Boys.

It was used for 4 years, and than forgotten for the last 8 years.
Isn't it still considered "not old" for power supplies ?

Yes. It's not like a lawn mower, the aging comes from things like capacitors, not the wearing down of moving parts. In fact, sitting unused for eight years is bad for capacitors.

Would you ask a doctor to install a pacemaker that was sitting around for eight years unused? If not, why are you doing that with your PC?
