[SOLVED] Will my 1600MHz ddr3 ram work on my 1333MHz motherboard

I bought a 1600MHz hyperx ram ddr3 4gb, but my mobo only supports 1333MHz( ASROCK-G41C-VS ) i installed it in the slot and when i turned on my PC the display was black.Can i somehow make it work ?
CPU : Intel core 2 quad q9400.

1600 ram should work at a default speed of 1333.
Is this the only stick, or is this an addition?
Mixing ram does not always work.

I have one more stick that has 2 gb ddr3 but i tried to 4gb one whit and whitouth the 2gb one.

speed of ram does matter motherboard will cut speed of ram...but maybe u buy non compatible ram for your motherboard...and that is problem

Apparently, the construction of the ram makes a difference when using 4gb sticks.
Here are the specs for your motherboard:

A * note says for 4gb, you need ram with 16cells like this:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/images/RAMDoubleSide.png

Go to the kingston or crucial ram selection app and enter your motherboard.
You will get a list of compatible ram upgrades.
Buy one of the exact part numbers supported if you can.
