Help and advice please :)

No. the recommended wattage is 1000w as shown on this site http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
if you need any help finding the best psu's to use check this psu tier list linked here > http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Well, this PSU is certainly a quality make and model and has plenty of power. But in this case you would be cutting it too close. 300W per card + another 150 for the system is the expected max theoretical load - and although it is very unlikely you would ever reach that, that PSU would be stressed too hard to handle that for long. Not recommended.

There are two solutions - either upgrade the PSU to at least 850W, or just get 2 recent Nvidia's cards like GTX970. If you sell your 290 and get 2xGTX970 - they would use way less power and leave a lot of headroom for your current PSU.

additional supply depots required - as others said - you need at least an 850w PSU. Theoretical power consumption would be:
300Wx2 ~= 600W
8350 OCd to 4.6 ~= 170-190W
other stuff like ram hdd fans ~= 20W

Worst case 600+190+20= 810W and from the socket considering an avg 83% efficiency is ~975W from the wall socket.
