Hello here are my computer specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Power Supply: 300W (im upgrading this to 400-500W)

I am thinking of buy a Radeon 6850 1GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

Can someone tell me if my computer bottleneck? & could someone explain what bottle-necking is. Thank You!

A bottleneck is when a slowdown in data throughput/bandwidth occurs, when it comes to CPU's and GPU's, you should have a decent balance between the two. A good rule of thumb to try and spend around the same amount of money on both components.

Bottnecks can occur due to the CPU being to slow for a GPU that can process data a quicker speed. So if the GPU is constantly push data over to the CPU and the CPU is taking multiple cycles just to keep up processing, then that CPU is your bottleneck.

That CPU and GPU pairing should be fine, while the Phenom 9850 is an old chip, the 6850 shouldn't give it much of a challenge.
