I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card so I can play newer games with a decent frame rate. I'm hoping that I don't need to buy a new computer. I'm not very tech savvy, so I'm hoping for a bit of help! :) I want to put in a GTX 650, but I don't know if my computer will handle it, or just restrict it.

Current Specs:
GPU- GTX260
CPU- AMD Phenom X4 9500 2.2 GHz
MoBo- Asus M2N68-LA
RAM- 6 GB
PSU- 510 watt

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution

If you want to play on HD or higher resolutions, you need more memory. All current graphics card will fit in any PCI-E slot. That doesn't mean the best will work fine in any computer.
Will the extra GPU memory make any difference?
The 260 has 896 MB of GDDR3 RAM
Whereas the 650 has 2048 MB of GDDR5 RAM

Also, I forgot to ask about my motherboard.
Will a PCIe 3.0 card work in a PCIe X16 slot?

THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE'S HELP!!!
