Will my cpu bottleneck my GPU's?

Hello everybody

I'm ordering a new pc in a couple of days, did many research, and I finally came to this setup:
As the title says: Any Bottlenecks?


1x Antec TruePower New Series TP-750 Blue
1x AMD Phenom II X4 965
2x XFX HD5850 Black Edition
1x Antec Nine Hundred II
1x Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P4
1x Geil Black Dragon 8GB DDR3-1333 CL7 quad kit
1x Windows 7 Home premium 64bit

Another question for you guys: I'm not sure about the motherboard...., Everywhere it says it supports crossfire, but on which motherboard will my computer perform best?

Make sure they don't cost that much..., allready reached my limit.

what about my Motherboard?/ Does it support Crossfire for 100%?, Or should i get the UD5 from gigabyte?

To answer your question, the CPU is most likely not going to be the bottleneck. CPUs are far from being the bottleneck in any computer. In fact, to get benchmarks and comparision charts, the settings are artificially enhanced to produce a bottleneck.

A potential bottleneck exists in the chipset. All AMD chipsets and all LGA1156 chipsets will only offer 8x/8x speeds in Crossfire. Once you get the x58 chipset (for LGA1366), that goes up to 16x/16x. It's not a big difference, and only really hurts once you put the 5870/5970 in Crossfire. Also, an i7 build will cost close to $200 more than an i5 build, $250 more than an AMD build.

With that answered, some general comments on the build.

GPU: Getting 2 5850s are a waste of money. Get 1 5970 for about the same price. The 5970 is basically 2 5870s downclocked to 5850 speeds. Thus, the 5970 is really 2 5870s for the price of 2 5850s. Why would you get the weaker one.

RAM: You don't need 8 GB. Get a 2x2 GB kit of the same specs. The savings will help with the next point.

Case/PSU: I'm assuming your in the US, and if you are, you can get a combo from Newegg with the HAF 922 and OCZ StealthXStream 700W for $110 after rebates. This would significantly lower the costs, possibly allowing for the next change.

CPU: The i5 is a much better gaming CPU than any AMD offering. I highly recommend switching to that one. The i5-750 will cost you $200, and a great board is the Asus P7P55D-E Pro for $190. The board is an excellent future proofing option with USB 3/SATA III support and decent Crossfire capabilities.

the 5970 will not fit in my case, and i don't want to have a computer that looks like an appartment...

Intel isn't an option, I get this processor for free..., but if you had to choose a motherboard, wich one would you choose?

And about my Ram: Do i have to pick 32Bit or 64 bit windows 7 home premium?

The UD4P should work fine, and is cheaper than the UD5. You will need to get the 64 Bit version of Windows 7 because you have over 3 GB of memory.
