Not sure if this is a dumb question, but I've seen mixed answers online.

I've got this stock intel fan,

And this motherboard:

its LGA 1151 and an intel 7700k if that matters, do you think I'll need a new fan or as long as I can get proper contact and some new paste on there should it be ok? The seller states it will in a comment but thats hardly official to me

Solution
It will fit... yes.
Will it be OK??
up to a point, yes.
But, you will need a good cooling case to supply the cooler with fresh air.
As an evaluation interim, you are ok.
If the processor detects a dangerous temperature, it will slow down or shut off.
That is around 100c.

If you have any intention of overclocking the K(and you should), buy a better cooler with a 120 or preferably 140mm fan.

Gotcha, I will use this in the interim then, refrain from overclocking for the time being and get a better fan in the future
