Will my CPU work with this Motherboard?

Hi guys would you be able to tell me if this motherboard is compatible with an Intel Core i7 3770s 3.1GHZ Quad Core CPU Processor LGA1155 which I have just purchased .

Yes, The MSI H61M-P31(G3) is compatible with both 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen CPUs like the Core i7 3770s.

awhile that motherboard is compatible with that 3rd gen CPU, the H61 chipset originally came out with 2nd generation intel CPU's so it possible it may need a BIOS update out of the box for the CPU to work with it

to avoid this problem get the model number of the CPU and check on MSI's webpage to see what BIOS version is required for that CPU to work then contact the seller and ask what BIOS version is on the board.

If you are getting it used from that seller on the link you posted, it says it has been tested to work with both 2nd and 3rd gen CPUs.
You should contact the seller.

unless you have a 2nd gen CPU you can install in it then no. you have to get the computer to boot first in order to update the BIOS. contact the seller to see if they will update the BIOS to the latest for you
