will my current fm2 system support a new fm2+ a10-7850

i have a very nice fm2 / a10 6800k system, and was thinking of upgrading to the new kaveri a10 7850k ,...do i also need to upgrade to an fm2+ mobo ? or will my current fm2 support it ?

Yeah you need to upgrade to fm2+ but you'd be better off buying a discrete GPU like the R9 270x instead of going to Kaveri

unfortunately Kaveris will only work on FM2+. you will need a FM2+ mobo for the 7850K
The FM2+ boards are backward compatible (your richland 6800k will work on these newer board), but not vice versa.

yea, i was afraid of that, thanks so much for your confirmations, ...well if it comes down to doing a mobo/cpu upgrade then i think imma go ahead and go for the am3+ and high end vishera 8 core, ...as i already have a pair of xfx 7970's cf'd on here...i can't bring myself to rationalize an extensive system upgrade, only to gain some video and service features, at the expense of processor power...well thanx again guys, you've been a great help...cjloki
