This is my build components so far, and as it is my first one, I want to know if it will fit, or if my psu will be good enough (I'm not sure yet about the amp-age). I'm also trying to save money and maybe improve it later on, but I am in desperate need of some advice. So far, I have got:

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard (Socket AM3+, Up to 16GB DDR3, USB 3.0, uATX)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-M5A78L-M-USB3-Motherboard-Socket/dp/B0054U7HIO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402420660&sr=8-2&keywords=am3%2B+motherboard

CPU: AMD FX-6300 (I downgraded to a cheaper one)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FX8320-Edition-4-0GHz-Socket/dp/B009O7YU56/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402419787&sr=8-1&keywords=AMD+FX-8320+Eight-Core

RAM: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B004CRSM4I/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1403632803&sr=1-1&keywords=RAM

GPU: Sapphire PCI Express R7 260X 2GB Graphics Card (OC GDDR5, HDMI, DVI, DP, 2S)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Express-260X-Graphics-GDDR5/dp/B00GI2EZ7I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402600562&sr=8-1&keywords=Radeon+R7+260X

Hard Drive: WD caviar blue
http://www.amazon.co.uk/1TB-inch-Internal-Hard-Drive/dp/B0088PUEPK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401998842&sr=8-1&keywords=1tb+hard+drive

DVD: LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x SATA Half Height Internal DVDRW Drive - Black
http://www.amazon.co.uk/LiteOn-IHAS124-04-Height-Internal-DVDRW/dp/B009GV7ZQG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403545794&sr=8-1&keywords=internal+disk+drive

PSU: CiT 850W 12cm Silent Fan Dual Rail Power Supply - Black Edition (pretty worried about this; I'm not sure if it will be enough quality/amp-age)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CiT-850W-Silent-Power-Supply/dp/B00649YLAQ/ref=sr_1_21?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1403547147&sr=1-21&keywords=psu

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus Midi Tower Case (ATX, M-ATX, Supports Bottom PSU Installation and Aperture for Cable Management, Anti-Vibration Rubber Stand)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-Z11-Plus-Installation-Anti-Vibration/dp/B007C008L2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402598378&sr=8-1&keywords=gaming+pc+case

Looks pretty good although personally I would buy a better psu with a single instead of dual power rail/s with full protection circuits to prevent surges damaging anything in your system, for 15 or 20 pounds more you can get something like a corsair of 5 or 6 hundred watts which will be plenty for that setup unless you plan to fit another graphics card.I used to use cheap psu's and then one went bang and took my motherboard and graphics card with it,my present corsair vx550 is 6 years old and still going strong with a similar system to yours,Its boring I know to spend money on a psu but believe me its worth it for the peace of mind, heres corsairs psu selector which will help you out, hope that helps

Why not use pcpartpicker.com for their free, automatic compatibility checking? It checks MoBo vs CPU automatically, and calculates the power load as you add components. Its not perfect, but a good starting point. Then you come here with specific questions like "will the heatsinks on this RAM interfere with the CPU cooler and this MoBo?".

The other common issue is for long GPUs, and it looks like this case can easily accomodate long GPUs.

I think 850 watts is plenty for what you're doing, but I don't think I trust that PSU. Sounds like it doesn't come with enough connectors; most people want connectors that can support SLI - don't think this has it. You're not SLI now, but if you want to upgrade...

Thanks, I'll get a better PSU and have a check on pcpartpicker.com. I saw somewhere that the advertised 850w was only the equivalent of a good quality 500w one. I'll go with Corsair, I think.

Most of the quality psu's have a certified efficiency of over 80 percent which means you don't need such a high wattage and it saves you money on wasted electricity, have fun

Bronze is probably the best value, most quality psu's at a decent price are bronze and the price escalates sharply with silver and gold and then you can get psu's with modular cables which make for a tidier case as you just connect the cables you need, its up to you how much you want to spend
