I'm building my very first gaming pc, but before I order and pay for all of my parts, I want to make sure they will all work, fit in my case, be compatible, etc.
Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270 2GB Video Card

Case: Apevia X-SNIPER2-WHT ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply:
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

1) No he doesn't need a better power supply, and definitely not a 750W one. His is fine.
The easiest way to check is if there are sufficient PCIe connectors for the graphics card and his has 2x6/8-pin so he's good.

2) I do prefer NVidia but there are Pros and Cons. Some people want MANTLE support for AMD cards for BF4 etc and feel that's worth it.

*The R9-270 (assuming similar cooler/GPU frequency) is just below the NVidia GTX760, so at most I'd pay $230 USD for a good R9-270. Otherwise, I recommend either an EVGA or Asus GTX760 (EVGA with ACX cooler is $250 USD).

Update:
I noticed the OP changed his Power Supply I assume due to the above comment. As I said you didn't need to.

Minor other points:
1) get Windows 8 64-bit instead ($90 USD) and add Start8 for $5 to bypass the new interface. Windows 8 is superior. For example Battlefield 4 runs better on it and that is going to happen in other games as well:
http://www.bf4blog.com/battlefield-4-on-windows-8-will-have-better-cpu-optimization/

*Note the "partial support on Windows 7" comment. Yep, thank Microsoft for that.

2) Recommend 1600MHz CAS9 (2x4GB still). It won't make a huge difference but the cost isn't much different either.

okay! so i'll recommend you to change the gpu to ati hd 7730 2gb ddr5.
u can easily get it anywhere near around 5000 inr.
which is a better than good MID end gpu which will let u play any game without any difficulty and allows u to use the new hydravision technology as well.

??
That's a far, far worse card than the R9-270 so I'm not sure why you are recommending it. The R9-270 is basically an HD7870: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-270-review-benchmarks,3669-7.html

The HD7730 is roughly HALF the performance of an HD7850: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7730-cape-verde-review,3575-8.html

He can't play "any game without difficulty" by any stretch. It's not a "MID" card it's a low-end card.
