Will my GPU fit into my motherboard?

I have noticed the gpu I want is larger than the original 1080ti, and im wondering if that means it will be too big to go into my motherboard.

GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX 1080Ti
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270

GPU's use the same standard, utilizing a PCIe x16 slot - so it'll "fit" in that sense.

You may run into compatibility issues with your case though, with longer GPUs.
