So i have 2 1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series and i want to updrage one to a 4GB GTX 980... so if i have both of them crossfired together like i have my Radeons will it be compatible for 5GB of Dedicated VR Memory

Solution
Video memory does not stack, at least not yet. Even if you have four 4GB 980's you still have 4GB of effective video memory. Also, you can't crossfire/sli two different cards. Especially not an AMD card with an Nvidia card. For example, you can't SLI/CF a 290X with a 980, and you can't SLI a 780 with a 980.

Hey thanks for the help HCSn i will be selling both of them then for my new GTX 980!

Happy to help. A 980 is an excellent choice right now, especially considering the recent price drop and its full support of the upcoming DirectX 12. Good luck!

Couldn't help but reply to this thread because I also just recently bought a new 980. Got it for a good price AND a nice $50 discount on top of that through a coupon. Enjoy! :)
