I am getting a GTX 970 and will get either a ASUS, GIGABYTE OR A MSI i have looked on the specs of all the cards and all require a 6 pin and 8 pin connector (pci e ?) from the psu. I have a
Corsair GS600W psu linked: http://www.corsair.com/en/gs600w I am wondering if it will actually work with the card as the g card i have at the minute is only requires a 6 pin. Also what are you opinions on which brand of 970 i should get ? Thanks.

Solution
Yes, it will work. The specs listed on NewEgg show that your GS600 has two 6+2 pin connectors for the PCI-e power, which you can use either as 6- or 8-pin connectors.

It will power the 970 just fine.

As for which specific 970 to get, go for either EVGA's Superclocked edition or Gigabyte's G1 Gaming. But keep in mine that any of them will be a very good card. So if you find a great deal on one or another, jump on it. Here is a thread I already answered on exactly your question about which 970 is the best one, resolving on the G1 Gaming as the "best" pick of the 970 lot...

U should go with gigabyte gtx 970 gaming g1... It has highest factory clock with best cooling ability...
So ur psu already hv a 6 pin pci-e connector huh...
So u jst need an 8 pin connector. Ur psu may hv a molex (the 4-pin connector by which u supply power to ur hdd) connector in spare, if there is one then jst go to ur local computer store and ask for a "molex to pci-e 8-pin connector".
Now jst supply power to ur 970 by a 6-pin connector which ur psu hv. Then attach the "molex to pci-e 8-pin" to the molex of psu and 8-pin socket of gpu respectively.

You wil gud 2 go with it. This should solve the problem.

But if ur psu dnt hv any molex in spare then sory u'l need 2 buy anothr psu.

Gud luck...

Dnt 4get 2 select d bst answer...

Apparently, you don't read the full thread before posting. His PSU DOES have two 6+2 PCI connectors which can be used for either 6 pin OR 8 pin GPU power sockets. He doesn't need to do ANYTHING with Molex connectors, which is a bad idea anyhow.
