Will my headphones have sound if I plug my console in from HDMI?

So i'm going to buy a Xbox One S, and want to plug it into my monitor. Only problem is that my monitor only has one HDMI which is used for my computer. If I used an HDMI-to-DVI cable, I could plug it in. I do know though that most DVI cables don't transmit audio, just video. SO if I plugged in my headphones to my Xbox One, and used the DVI cable, would my headphones still transmit sound?

If you can configure the Xbox One to output sound and not just chat from the headphone jack on the controller, then, yeah, there is no reason why that shouldn't work.

I assume you are using your monitor's built in speakers for sound? Another option would be to buy a cheap HDMI switch and just switch between your PC and Xbox when you need to.

well I have the controller with 3.5mm jack and I'm able to plug in head phones and get audio so don't see why it wouldn't work. I have my Xbox playing through my receiver but again when I use my head phones on my controller it works with out issue (speaker and mic).

I would be using wireless headphones for sound. I would be plugging in the headphones via USB port.
